Quarks & Bits software is a software and technical research company founded and operated by Teresa Nicole Brooks.
I am currently a professional software developer in the New York City metropolitan area. I was awarded a Master of Computer Science degree from Pace University in May 2010. In the process of fulfilling my requirements for graduation I completed a master’s thesis. My thesis involved research and development of MyFido, an intelligent RSS Feed aggregator. MyFido uses natural language processing as well as other artificial intelligence development techniques to make suggestions of technical news articles based on passive and non-passive observations of user interests.
During my time at Pace University, I was selected as one of ten finalists in the 2008 Pace Business Pitch Competition for my proposed mobile social networking application, “UrbanPing.” I also participated in the “Tech Challenge” as a student mentor in January 2009. The “Tech Challenge” was a boot camp for Mobile and Web Design for a group of students attending the University of Thies in Senegal.
My professional IT and software development experience includes, systems administration, deployment and release management, desktop and web application development as well as custom systems interrogation using web services.
In addition to traditional software projects Quarks & Bits seeks to partner with interested in collaborating with other software developers and organizations on open source and research projects. Technical areas of interest include but are definitely not limited to: natural language processing, suggestion and knowledge management systems, large data set processing, mobile development, robotics and general artificial intelligence development.
